The Umbabat Nature Reserve lies just north east of Marulaneng, closest to the Satara and Olifants rest camps in the world famous Kruger National Park.

The Nature Reserve forms part of the Associated Private Nature Reserves, which allows free movement of game across 180 000 hectares of land. Umbabat is made up of mopani bushveld, watering holes and riverbeds that attract a huge variety of game including elephant, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, kudu and several other antelope. These in turn attract a number of predators, such as lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena, which makes Umbabat a popular choice for game viewing and ‘real’ African wildlife experiences.

Getting There

You can book a scheduled flight on SA Airlink from Johannesburg to Hoedspruit Airport. • Transfers can be arranged from the airport to your accommodation at no cost. • You can also book a direct chartered flight on our website from Johannesburg to airfield close to Tloupane (depending on availability).
